| The Rangiatea breeding programme is one of selecting the best possible genetics available, to enhance bottom line profitablitiy in the commercial environment. All stud sheep are completely subjected to intensive grazing systems, high stocking rates, and are bred to perform. Strong emphasis is also put on sheep type conformation, wool type (crimp, colour) and structural soundness. Objective measurements include EBVs for 100-day (milking) 200-day ultrasound eye muscle measurement, fertility and wool-weight. Rangiatea Perendales are renowned for their shifting ability, survivability and progressive genetic selection objectives. | |||||
